The best color tool for your Mac

Posted on 25 January, 2010 at 12:03pm with 4 comments

ColorSchemer 2 is out. This is the best color tool I’ve ever used for the Mac. It has tons of features:

  • Color Picker
  • Let’s you create triads and harmonies
  • Integrates with ColourLovers.com

It’s pretty much a must for anyone working in any field of design. It’s quite handy.

Social web applications? Anyone can do it.

Posted on 29 October, 2009 at 8:43pm with no comments

Advertising Age Digital just posted about the announcement of the Forrester Groundswell Awards. They have awarded successful and groundbreaking social web apps. The list of entries and winners is great. And according to Josh Bernoff the most important lesson to learn is this: anyone can do it.

Remove Safari’s input focus behaviour

Thanks to Josiah Platt I’ve removed the annoying focus effect that Safari forces on all input fields.

Just add this piece of magic to your CSS.

*:focus {outline: 0;}

We’ve all needed the hand and arrow cursors for graphic work from time to time. Michael Mulvey has created them and provides a handy download for the rest of us. Very useful. (Via Swiss-Miss)

Last.fm lets me remove artists from the list

Posted on 17 August, 2009 at 9:40pm with no comments

This is not new, but I’m so happy that Last.fm allows me to remove artists from my charts. About 4 years ago I left my MP3 player submitting tracks to Last.fm during an entire weekend. I forgot to turn it off and Kitaro ended up as my all time favorite artist. Today I happily removed him.

Google Chrome OS – What people want according to Google

Posted on 9 July, 2009 at 11:05am with 2 comments

The post where Google announced the launching of their new Operating System has a brief description of what people want from their computers. It’s a good summary of the tough demands people have on machines today:

People want to get to their email instantly, without wasting time waiting for their computers to boot and browsers to start up. They want their computers to always run as fast as when they first bought them. They want their data to be accessible to them wherever they are and not have to worry about losing their computer or forgetting to back up files. Even more importantly, they don’t want to spend hours configuring their computers to work with every new piece of hardware, or have to worry about constant software updates.

Expression Engine’s automatically generated URLS

Posted on 29 June, 2009 at 6:06pm with no comments

Man I always forget to turn off Automatically Generated Links in EE weblogs.

Weblog Administration -> Preferences -> Automatically turn URLs and email addresses into links? NO! Dammit.
